Masters of Linen is a collective brand registered in over 60 countries. It is a guarantee of origin and quality, awarded to products according to specific criteria along the process: raw material, yarns and fabrics depending on their final use.

The Masters of Linen label is available free of charge for brands, manufacturers, “editeurs” of furnishing fabrics etc. using certified linens.

For consumers, it is the guarantee of:

the origin of flax & linen grown and transformed in the European Union, in compliance with environmental and social standards,

quality measured by strict criteria, among which
- dimensional stability on laundering and dry cleaning,
- colour fastness to light, to laundering, to solvents, to hot pressing, to rubbing, to perspiration,
- resistance to tearing, to abrasion, propensity to pilling, seam slippage etc...

The labels’ series numbers allow tracking and controls.

This is the mark of products you can trust, which over the years will give you lasting satisfaction

A wide range is available for apparel, accessories, household linen, furnishings, sampling etc...

Certification

To be awarded the Masters of Linen hallmark, professionals of the flax and linen industry - scutchers, spinners, weavers – need:
- to be members of CELC (European Flax and Hemp Confederation),
- to purchase Masters of Linen certified products,
- and to respect strict criteria, controlled by lab tests.
-> voir critères en PDF (75Ko) -> see criteria as PDF (86 Ko)

The standards required for each of these criteria, and for each product type - raw material, yarns, furnishing fabrics, household linen, woven fabrics or knitted fabrics for apparel - are shown in a further page "Technical criteria" (access for members only). If you are not a member, please contact us.

Once applicants have checked that they fulfil the conditions, they should send a listing application. This application should cover all the products for which they wish to use the Masters of Linen trademark, both new products and ones that have already been listed previously, and it should be sent in every year (or season, as the case may be).
For raw material or yarns, please e-mail us to get the application form.
For fabrics: print a form to send by fax.
